Kent, Allen Change Agents Educational Technology Information Science Information Systems Library Science Technological Advancement Emphasis on the information science field has grown in the past several decades because of five interrelated factors: time scale changes, changes in quantity of available information, changes in nature of information requirements, changes in importance of information sources, and an increase in the number of information processing agencies. The computer, modern communications technology, and new means of information organization and dissemination all have an effect on the traditional concept of a library.
