One section presents recent surveys of professional organizations that show the need for semiprofessional technicians. Another section summarizes the technical assistant curriculum as it has been reviewed and recommended by a statewide advisory committee. A third section surveys and analyzes employment opportunities and the professional hierarchy. Two other sections discuss recommendations for the development and coordination of a curriculum for a Library Technical Assistant Program.
