American History Area Studies Bibliographies Communism Cross Cultural Studies Foreign Policy Latin American Culture Nationalism Newsletters Political Issues Political Socialization Resource Materials Social Action Social Studies United States History This is the first issue of the Cuban Studies Newsletter, a biannual publication designed to provide comprehensive and timely communication among those interested in Cuban Studies. The purpose of the newsletter stated in a recommendation by the International Conference on Cuban Bibliography and Acquisitions, April, 1970, is to promote the scholarly interchange of current information on research projects, publications, academic programs, library acquisitions, and micro-filming projects relating to Cuban Studies. This first issue is devoted to an extensive bibliography on Cuba, giving books, pamphlets, articles and chapters in books published in 1968 or later. Entries are organized under the following topics: Agriculture, Anthropology, Art, Bibliography, Biography and Documents (emphasis on Castro and Guevara), Cubans Abroad, Economics, Education, Foreign Relations, and Guerilla Warfare, History, Literature, Politics (Domestic) and Military, Public Health and Demography, Religion, and Sociology. Titles are in English or Spanish with a few French publications included. Current research and travel projects as well as a description of programs being carried on at several universities are noted. Those interested in receiving the newsletter regularly should request that their name be placed on the mailing list. (Author/JSB)
