- Guidelines and Suggested Titles for Library Holdings in Undergraduate Biology. Creager, Joan G. Bibliographies Biology College Science Guidelines Libraries Library Material Selection Scholarly Journals Undergraduate Study Books and periodicals thought suitable for inclusion in undergraduate biology libraries were ranked by 306 biologists. Books which at least 40 percent of the evaluators ranked good or excellend and used by at least 30 percent of the evaluators are listed according to Library of Congress classifications. Each entry provides bibliographic details, number of pages, availability in paperback, price, Library of Congress accession and classification numbers, Dewey Decimal classification number, and the rating received from evaluators. Similar information is provided for periodicals judged highly desirable or essential for upper division undergraduates by 40 percent of the evaluators. The availability of microfilm of back issues of the journals is indicated. Notes on the maintenance of a library collection are included. This edition updates and replaces the CUEBS publication 22.
