It is against this backdrop that Project Inspire is described. Its purpose is the development of a vocational guidance component within the broader school curriculum. Its major objective is elevating the awareness level of students to the work world through the establishment of a comprehensive Human Resources Library. Specific institute materials included in this booklet are: (1) sample educational projects and techniques, including an educational simulation; (2) a listing of specific career orientation program objectives; (3) sample forms and letters for program participants; (4) a Connecticut task force report on manpower needs; and (5) the results of an end-of-the-first week evaluation of institute participants' knowledge and feelings about minority youth, employment, and poverty.
