  • Comprehensive Plan for Libraries. Evaluation Library Facilities Library Planning Library Role Library Services Library Standards Objectives Public Libraries Resource Allocation As institutional roles change in response to contemporary pressures on them, new opportunities arise for combining forces to achieve common objectives. With today's technological revolution in handling information, the role of the public library is both challenged and reaffirmed. Resources may be allocated from state and national levels of government to achieve many of the objectives attached to library systems. This plan report was prepared in order to help apportion these funds to produce the greatest impact on the library's program. The report approach is to analyze the efficacy of the present library system in terms of both shifting and traditional needs. This analysis is held up against desirable objectives and standards, then matched with available local ability to resolve the difference. The need and priority of assistance from other governmental levels will be derived from this analysis. (Author/NH)
