In addition to the citations, many with annotations, are lists of bulletins, booklets, recordings, and agencies to contact for information and pamphlets. The purposes of the bibliography are (1) to provide information to help all Americans better understand and appreciate the heritage, customs, and culture of the American Indian, as well as the great contributions he has made to this nation, and (2) to encourage the purchase of more reference materials and books on this subject for school libraries and classrooms. This publication supersedes an earlier edition entered in the ERIC system as ED 030 531. (JH)
