The Program makes available materials, written on or below the 8th grade reading level, to instructors, tutors, reading specialists, social workers, and others working with the under-educated, as well as the individual himself. The collection is divided into the following seven major reading interest categories: (1) leisure reading; (2) the community; (3) family life; (4) jobs; (5) reading, writing, arithmetic; (6) science and (7) the world and its people.
