- Feasibility of an International University. Cross Cultural Training Higher Education International Education International Programs International Relations In the context of the long-standing and developing demand for an international university, the Secretary-General brought the feasibility of an international university to the attention of the United Nations. The General Assembly unanimously adopted a resolution inviting the Secretary-General to prepare a study. The resulting study includes: (1) the issues; (2) the rationale for an international university and its distinctive educational tasks; (3) illustrative suggestions for curricula reflecting the indicated distinctive roles of an international university; (4) the United Nations international university system and relationships with national universities and other bodies of higher learning; (5) the designation of the university; (6) the student body and the question of career opportunities; (7) the faculty or academic staff; (8) the problem of languages; (9) the selection of the sites for the location of the university and the question of the number of campuses; (10) assumptions as to the size of the student body, the faculty and the administration for a campus of the university; (11) establishment of library, computer, laboratory, and other ancillary facilities as necessary, and utilization of modern educational techniques at the university; (12) the nature of the university statute and the administration; (13) estimated capital and recurring costs; (14) meeting the costs of the university; (15) additional observations relevant to the question of feasibility; and (16) procedures.
