The Use of an On-Line Searched and Printed Coordinate Index in Teaching. Jahoda, G. Foos, Ferol A. Automatic Indexing Computer Assisted Instruction Coordinate Indexes Indexing Library Automation Library Education Online Systems An indexing system to 1850 documents on library automation, systems studies in libraries, and indexing systems was developed for use in instruction and research. The indexing system consists of an on-line searched coordinate index, a printed coordinate index, a subject authority list, an abstract bulletin containing the 1850 documents in the index, computer-assisted instruction for index preparation, and searching, and a programmed text for teaching index preparation. The system has been used for instruction of graduate library school students in index preparation, searching, and evaluation. (Author)
