Adult Education Community Involvement Continuing Education Centers Educational Programs Independent Study Libraries Library Role Library Services Public Libraries A history of the Independent Study Project (ISP) as well as a report of the progress of the Project is presented. The presentation is divided into several parts: the history of the Project, what is actually proposed, what was done during the first six months of the Project, and what is being attempted now. The presentation concludes with an evaluation of the Project in terms of the whole area of higher education. The second presentation included in this document is taken from a paper presented at the Southwestern Regional Meeting of the College Entrance Examination Board and the College Scholarship Service Assembly on February 17, 1972.
