- Long-Range Program for the State of Washington Under the Library Services and Construction Act (Public Law 91-600). Evaluation Library Planning Library Services Objectives State Libraries State Programs Statewide Planning The state of Washington has traditionally involved as many members of the library community as possible in the development of long-range planning for library services. The work of the Washington Library Association, along with the surveys and activities of other groups and individuals during the past 40 years, is documented in Section I of this report, History and Library Planning and Development. The evaluation of this plan has followed the tradition of broad involvement. During the past year the Washington State Advisory Council on Libraries has conducted a comprehensive study of library services in Washington. Its report and recommendations were widely discussed with the profession, and the goals, objectives, and activities listed in Section II are the direct result of that study. Section III describes the current facilities and services offered to the people of Washington by their system of public, school, academic, and special libraries and the availability of various statewide resources. (Other State Plans are: LI003985 through LI003993, LI003995 through LI003997 and LI003999 through LI004004.) (Author/NH)
