- Long Range Program for Library Development in Tennessee. Evaluation Library Planning Library Services Objectives State Libraries State Programs Statewide Planning The comprehensive five-year program identifies the library needs of Tennessee, sets forth the activities to be taken toward meeting the identified needs. It carries out the purposes of the Library Services and Construction Act for the extension and improvement of public library services in areas which are without such services or in which such services are inadequate, and for public library construction, and in the improvement of such other State Library services as library services for physically handicapped, institutionalized, and disadvantaged persons, in strengthening State library administrative agencies, and in promoting interlibrary cooperation among all types of libraries. It provides the framework within which the Tennessee State Library and Archives may encourage the establishment, extension, and improvement of library services.
