It is divided into four functional departments: acquisitions, serials, cataloging, and catalog maintenance. This report is concerned with the latter two functions. The present manual system of cataloging books was analyzed to determine the cost per title. The feasibility and cost effectiveness of installing the Ohio College Library Center (OCLC) on-line computer system for cataloging was then analyzed. The authors recommend implementation of the OCLC system by leasing three terminals with a projected cost savings of $5,000 per year. (Author/SJ)
