Over 6000 titles in nonfiction series and publishers' series--either fiction or nonfiction books prepared by more than one author but having a common format and a basic theme--are included. All in print series designed for grades three through twelve published through 1972 are contained in this volume. Series with appeal to reluctant readers, regardless of reading level, have been included with appropriate mention of their special interest in the annotation. The annotations are based primarily on format, durability, reading level, and the inclusion of illustrations, indexes, and bibliographies. Arrangement is alphabetical by series title or, in the case of untitled author series, by author. Individual titles within each series are arranged first by author and then by title. (TO)
