Allen, Loren Administration Administrative Organization Audiovisual Aids College Libraries Community Colleges Educational Finance Facility Expansion Guides Individualized Instruction Learning Resources Centers Media Selection Organization Personnel Two Year Colleges A plan for the integration of the audiovisual and library services of the community college under a single administrative unit, the learning resources center (LRC), is presented. The authors maintain that such a merger would be in the best interests of faculty and students, helping them to provide and obtain quality individualized education. In order to assist in the establishment and maintenance of LRCs, the following topics are given major attention: 1) the nature of the community college; 2) the philosophy and organization of such institutions; 3) administration and personnel requirements; 4) finance; 5) selection of materials and equipment; 6) instructional and technical services; 7) the technical assistant; 8) building programs for new facilities; and 9) trends for the future.
