The majority of the works cited were published within the last few years, but some older materials are included; the collection as a whole is intended for librarians, information specialists, and other individuals involved with the information sciences. In addition to the standard bibliographic information, some of the citations contain brief annotations. Six sections comprise the bibliography. Section I deals with the subject of information handling in general and with definitions of purposes and functions. The second portion cites works which treat the various aspects of information processing, such as acquisitions, cataloging and indexing. Section III lists materials relevant to international documentation and section IV those pertinent to bibliographic control. Section V contains documents relating to the activities of international libraries, and the final part of the bibliography covers materials which focus upon modern trends and operational information systems. Indexes of authors' names and of corporate bodies, conferences, and information systems are appended. (PB) |
