The series will be published by the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and is intended to replace UNESCO's series of bibliographical handbooks. Part I of this volume offers some general considerations on the development of bibliographical services during the period 1965-69, covering the following topics: 1) national commissions for bibliography; 2) library cooperation; 3) national bibliographies; 4) types of materials; 5) current bibliographies of special subjects; 6) periodical indexes; 7) training in bibliography; 8) legal deposit; and 9) archives. Part II reviews the activities undertaken in each of 128 nations in each of these nine major categories. (PB)
