contents North Dakota State Plan For Library Development, Fiscal 1974-1978. Evaluation Library Planning Library Services Library Standards Objectives Performance Criteria State Libraries State Programs Statewide Planning Developed by the State Library with the advice of the North Dakota Advisory Council on Libraries, this long range plan describes programs developed to meet the assessed needs of the State population, insofar as it is possible to satisfy these needs through the provision of public library service. The plan is to be reviewed annually and revised in accordance with the changing needs of North Dakota and to qualify for assistance under the Library Services and Construction Act. Major porgrams outlined are: library service to institutionalized persons, to the physically handicapped, to State government, and to special groups; development of improved library services; planning, research and education; interlibrary cooperation; and library construction. Also presented are the details of the plan for fiscal year 1974 and the North Dakota standards for public libraries and for community library service from school media centers. (SL)
