The selection of specific content, machine considerations, and use cost tradeoffs are discussed in the first sections. The actual procedures used in the entering of information into the system, together with the configuration of the computers used are shown to provide a low cost, dependable method for the conversion process. In the first appendix computer facilities and support software are described, while the second contains the conversion manual that was used to instruct students in the operation of the on-line information system used in the conversion.
