There are chapters on the qualifications of a training director; the evaluation process; context evaluation, which includes a statement of the problem, objectives, and criteria; selecting alternatives; evaluating a program in process; assessing results; external evaluation; and heuristics, or evaluation based on personal experience. In addition, there are three articles on practical applications, dealing with forecasting for long range planning, evaluation tips, and a process monitoring feedback system. Appendixes contain evaluation techniques and forms from several projects, a bibliography, and a short glossary. (LS)
