Following an analysis of the issues involved, the case of Williams and Wilkins v. the United States is discussed, with a presentation of the arguments of the American Library Association, the Association of Research Libraries, and the National Library of Medicine followed by the reactions of the library community. Part 2 of the booklet reviews congressional action on copyright and includes the photocopying provisions of Senate Bill 1361. (Author/SL)
