Section 2 describes the reference tools to be used in studying case law, including official law reports of the federal government and California, unofficial case reports, digests, and digest tables. Other legal reference tools, such as dictionaries, periodical indexes, directories, and research handbooks are also described. A title index and table of standard legal abbreviations is provided.
