The first section deals with such topics as traditional approaches to weeding, related library standards, present judgmental criteria, recommended objectives, methods used, and core collections for specific types of libraries. Part two covers an analysis and review of the literature, research study assumptions, summaries of the Five Library Study and the Harrison Public Library study, patterns of use in libraries, and how to weed.
