The unit provides both facts and scope of the crises and direction for positive action by citizens of all ages to aid in correcting the problems. Many of the learning activities in the unit will build skills in chart and graph reading as well as in interpreting pictorial data. Specific teaching procedures and strategies and knowledge, skill, and behavioral objectives are outlined to aid the teacher in developing the concepts of the unit.
