- Bibliographic Instruction in Academic Libraries; Edited Transcript of a Panel Discussion. Kirk, Thomas And Others College Libraries Financial Support Higher Education Library Instruction Library Services Library Skills Research Libraries Speeches A panel discussion on bibliographic instruction was presented by three librarians at a meeting of the New England Chapter of the Association of College and Research Libraries in November 1974. Defining bibliographic instruction as instruction in the use of library materials rather than library orientation, the panelists talked about the development of library instruction programs in academic libraries, from setting goals and objectives to evaluating the programs. The modes of instruction discussed included regular courses, course-integrated instruction, seminars and minicourses, and print and nonprint instructional units. (LS)
