Following discussions of kinds of information and who needs it, there is a survey of current and recent community information proposals and programs. Major problems of these programs including organization and delivery of data, location of centers, staffing, and financing; the benefits derived from such centers; and the implications for NCLIS are also covered. Programs in Baltimore County, Brooklyn, and Philadelphia are described, and a bibliography is attached. (LS)
