The objective was to review the general principles of interpersonal relations and to apply them to case studies involving library staff and patrons. Using a brief reading list and a case study approach, students were expected to become familiar with the relevant literature, to reflect on their own behavior, and to internalize techniques for effective interpersonal relations. A systems approach was used, but it was observed that students experienced difficulty internalizing the principles that were introduced. (EMH) |
