- Five Year Plan, Grand View College, 1975-1980. Bachelors Degrees Educational Objectives Faculty Development Financial Needs Financial Support Library Planning Master Plans Private Colleges Program Development Program Evaluation Student Personnel Services Two Year Colleges Grand View College, a small two-year Lutheran liberal arts college in Des Moines, Iowa, has begun to work toward implementing a baccalaureate degree program in nursing and to consider offering baccalaureate degrees in other fields. To determine the feasibility of offering such programs, the college developed a long-range plan for college development. This report presents the following information: (1) a description of the present status of the college (student characteristics, degrees granted, and programs offered), (2) a list of the overall institutional commitments and goals, (3) a list of the guidelines used in determining college priorities, (4) a discussion of the proposed plans for the various academic departments, (5) descriptions of the long-range plans for improving faculty development, library services, the athletic department, student services, and educational evaluation techniques, and (6) a review of the financial status of the institution and a consideration of future financial needs. Appended are a planning process flow chart, a list of the assumptions made in planning, and a list of the goals for which all groups involved in academic planning will be held accountable. (DC)
