The manual describes operating procedures for CENIS. The manual's major sections correspond to major components in the computer software package: CENIS computer software supervisor, labor demand, student interest, three year followup, and CENIS interface. The software supervisor determines which program of those in the program library the user wishes to execute, passes information to that program, and lets the program perform its task. The chapter on the supervisor discusses program structure and operation, the utility program, job control language, and the program library. The CENIS interface component summarizes all component data to give a concise report of the needs in career education across the State. The chapter on interface, as well as those on labor demand, student interest, and three year student followup, cover required data collection and editing procedures, the characteristics and use of CENIS computer software, and the form and content of reports generated by the computer.
