A discussion of previous research dealing with government documents collections is followed by a brief description of the California state documents depository program. Then the state documents program and associated maintenance activities at the library of California State University, Northridge, are outlined. Personnel and cataloging costs are itemized to arrive at a total annual cost for the program. Overhead items, while considered, are not included in the total. (Author/LS)
