Hiring additional media specialists and technicians and computerizing the request procedure served only to multiply the number of requests. A federally-assisted statewide program provided for a central agency to convert older media materials to videotapes and for central purchasing and distribution of hardware, video equipment, and additional videotapes. This placed nearly 1000 film titles at the disposal of each of the participating schools. (EMH)
