The principle areas of investigation were: (1) the transportation information needs of the public and private sectors; (2) the utility of federal publications, including work in progress reporting and abstracting/indexing services; (3) the use of referrals to university faculty; (4) the use of the research library; and (5) the overall impact of regional center operations. The report concluded that, in order to capitalize on existing transformation information sources, centers should be located in areas of diversified transportation activity. Also recommended were regional funding for centers, regional charges and marketing, and specialized products for TRISNET. (EMH) |
