The publication is intended as a selection tool to help public school and college libraries meet the increased demand for ethnic material. Most items cited were published in the 1970s. While many entries are intended for undergraduates, materials suitable for elementary- and secondary-level students and general adult readers are emphasized. Part one lists bibliographic essays. Part two cites bibliographies of books, films, filmstrips, pamphlets, articles, and primary sources and includes teachers' study guides, a curriculum guide, and a resource unit. Part three describes directories, journals, and newsletters. Part four deals with professional organizations by describing their objectives, services, and publications. The appendix briefly describes two significant organizations in the field, the Association of Jewish Libraries and the Church and Synagogue Library Association. (Author/RM)
