Administration Collective Bargaining Librarians Libraries Public Libraries Unions The proceedings of the second seminar on labor relations and the librarian, held May 1974, are presented by the sponsor, the Institute of Professional Librarians of Ontario (IPLO). The papers included cover various aspects of labor relations: collective bargaining and the professional, defining a bargaining unit, union and management postures and attitudes, library working conditions, the nature of a collective agreement, and negotiating an agreement from both the management's and the bargaining unit's perspective. A copy of the Hamilton, Ontario, collective bargaining agreement is included, along with a discussion of its administration. Labor activities at the Detroit, Michigan Public Library are also discussed. An IPLO position paper on collective bargaining is appended. (LS)
