Evaluation Criteria Feasibility Studies Information Needs Information Systems Library Administration Library Automation Library Technical Processes Selection State Libraries A feasibility study identified the information requirements and alternative solutions for the Hawaii State Library System. On recommendation of the library service directors, the Book Inventory Building and Library Oriented System (BIBLOS) was purchased and installed. The system presently provides for automated acquisitions, orders, accounts, catalogs, and processing. It may be expanded in the future to include serials, circulation, indexing, and special collections. This report lists the criteria for selecting BIBLIOS, describes the implementation and operation of the system, and provides samples of the forms required for automated processing. (EMH)
