And Others Annotated Bibliographies Audiovisual Aids Books Elementary Secondary Education Foreign Countries Library Material Selection Periodicals Reference Materials Resource Materials School Libraries The annotated bibliography, commissioned by the Canadian Studies Project Committee, is a basic list of available Canadian materials suitable for school libraries. It consists of over 1,000 entries with an emphasis on materials relevant to Manitoba. A broad range of topics is covered: business education, consumer education, fine arts, guidance, family life and health, home economics, language and literature (biography, drama, novels, short stories, folktales, language arts, miscellaneous, picture books and picture story books, and poetry), literary criticism, mathematics, physical education, social studies (geography, history, native studies, and political studies), and science (general, physical, and natural). The majority of items listed are library or trade books but some text book series, periodicals, and reference materials have been included. All types of audiovisual materials are included except 16mm films and videotapes. For each entry typical bibliographical data, grade level, and a brief description are included. A title index is appended. (BP)
