The traditional card catalog and printed lists found in every library can be replaced in multiple copies for less money, and vast amounts of information can be located together in a small space to afford the in-depth library user ready information about a wide variety of potential resources. Administrative tasks such as acquisitions control are made simpler and more manageable using COM. (Author)
