Questionnaires were mailed to relevant institutions to collect information regarding: (1) input variables; (2) staffing needs as perceived by the directors of the institutions; and (3) current staffing data. Pearson product moment correlations were used to aggregate the data. A modified version of a staff formula previously used by the State University of New York was recommended to the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia. (EMH)
