The scope of the guide is broad, including literary, political, and historical journals, as well as general newspapers of the black community. Representation of all phases of black thought and action, from the Abolitionist involvement of the nineteenth century to the civil rights and black nationalist movements of the 1960s and 1970s, is provided. The alphabetical main listing (by title of publication) is supplemented by a subject index and a list arranged by state. (Author/KS) |
