David And Others Decision Making Higher Education Information Dissemination Information Networks Information Services Legislation Organizational Communication Politics Scientific Enterprise Technology Urban Environment The objectives of this report are to briefly synthesize the communication approaches used by legislative bodies in the acquisition of scientific information, to describe the practices of the Congressional Research Service of the Library of Congress and the Office of Technology Assessment, to describe the present and proposed communication systems used by Minnesota and other state legislatures, to review the system of a typical urban decision-making body (the Twin Cities Metropolitan Council, Minnesota), and to make recommendations for research to improve communication in political decision making.
