Included are discussions of ways to determine the scope and objectives of a course, gear a course towards a target population, and limit a course in scope so as to include all material within a limited time period. Designing learning activities with special consideration for the importance of teacher and learner participation, and individualized instruction are also examined. A variety of instructional methods and techniques are presented as well as ways of evaluating instruction to determine whether course objectives have been met. (AP)
