Bibliographies Films Fine Arts Librarians Library Collections Library Materials Library Services Public Libraries A collection of papers which were presented at two series of seminars sponsored by the Michigan Library Association are concerned with the role of public libraries in providing services and developing collections dealing with the contemporary arts. The papers included are: (1) Public Library Programs and the Arts, a discussion of the public library as a cultural center, fostering the arts in its community; (2) Trends in Contemporary Music, a discussion followed by a bibliogragraphic survey of selections from recent literature and basic information sources; (3) Modern Architecture/Art, a synopsis of the seminar discussion with bibliographies on both subjects; (4) Trends in Contemporary Movies, a brief discussion of content, technology, and style, with a bibliographic survey; and (5) Funding for the arts, a brief survey of the current situation with a bibliography on private and public sources of funding.
