Its purpose was (1) to document how NELINET libraries were using the Ohio College Library Center's (OCLC) on-line shared cataloging system, (2) to enable participating libraries to compare themselves with each other, and (3) to provide information to libraries considering joining NELINET. This report is divided into three parts: (1) the reproduction of the text of the questionnaire, including a summary of responses and commentary on specific questions; (2) a brief description of each responding institution, including the type of library, its budget and staff size; and (3) the response of each institution to each survey question and results of the survey are in Part 3, Section 2 of the report.
