Bibliographies History Libraries Library Services State History State Surveys This supplement to the "Bibliography of the History of Libraries in New York State" contains primary and secondary sources, in English or translated, completed or published from 1968 to 1972. Documents are concerned with functions and activities of individual New York State libraries and/or systems, and library development on a statewide basis. Topics excluded are education for librarianship, library legislation, and history of library organizations. Types of materials include journal articles; monographs; monograph sections; conference proceedings; pamphlets; federal state and local documents; reports; papers; and theses and dissertations of graduate library programs. If only one citation about a particular library or if only one reference to a library that has ceased operations exists, any type of material is included. Arrangement of the first part is by subject--general references, public libraries, school libraries, academic libraries, special libraries, and counties, regions, and systems. Part two follows the format and arrangement of the American Library Directory with libraries listed alphabetically by city/town. Entries are in various forms depending on cataloging codes and agencies. (KP)
