The data covers income, staffing and salaries, expenditures, materials, and activities. The first of three directory sections lists libraries by city or unincorporated area. Information includes library name, type, address, telephone number, interlibrary loan (ILL) phone number, TWX and Telex numbers, director's name, schedule of hours, clientele and population, system or network affiliation, and branch libraries. The second section lists library systems and includes address, membership, and persons to contact. The third section is a chart of public libraries by name, with system, TWX or Telex number, and chief librarian.
