The first priority was selection and use of instructional materials. Presentations by five speakers were entitled: "Are We Selecting for a Generation of Skeptics?""Censorship Versus Selection of Materials: A Matter of Attitude,""The Role of School Board Member in Selection and Evaluation,""The Role of the Library Supervisor in Selection and Evaluation," and "The Role of a Public Librarian in Selection and Evaluation." The second priority was media and the special student. The conference editor opened this portion of the workshop by presenting characteristics of exceptional students and discussing the concept of mainstreaming. A curriculum development specialist made the main presentation entitled "The Role of Media Services in the Education of the of the Special Student." (JAB)
