- Goals and Objectives of the University Library. Spyers-Duran, Peter Cataloging College Libraries Interlibrary Loans Library Acquisition Library Administration Library Circulation Library Instruction Library Services Objectives Reference Services Statements of library missions, goals, and corresponding objectives are presented in this report resulting from a program review of the California State University at Long Beach libraries and a workshop in which library staff drafted the document. Library-wide goals are stated, followed by an administration section which covers collection development, instructional support services, and administrative services. Acquisitions and cataloging are also detailed. The final sections consider library support systems, including circulation and interlibrary loans, and subject readers' services, with subdivisions on humanities reference, fine arts/media resources, social sciences and business, science and technology reference, and education reference. A systematic review of these statements will be conducted periodically. (KP)
