Information was collected from public libraries, historical societies, public schools, colleges, and universities in order to develop a statewide "locator file" of oral history tapes. This directory lists only those projects which have interview tapes and related oral history material available for public use. The entries are categorized according to the Colorado State Library's seven regional service systems. All entries for each region are further arranged by county. For each entry information is given on project name, agency address, and phone number. The descriptive information includes content of interviews, type of interviewees and interviewers, size of collection, and availability for public use. Topics include city growth, ethnic history, development of social and civic organizations, personal experiences of long-time residents, mining, and role of the national park system. Two indexes provide alphabetical listings of the projects by title and by city. (Author/AV) |
