The materials, published between 1899 and 1975, are divided into reference books; general stack books which deal with philosophy, religion, social sciences, language, technology, the arts, literature, fiction, and history; and magazines and newspapers. The bibliography is comprehensive in that it takes into account the Indo Hispanic heritage of the Chicano; therefore books on Spain and the Indians of North America are included. A section is provided on how to locate the materials in the library. This section presents brief information on how to use and where to locate the subject catalog, author and title catalogs, bibliographic index, cumulative book index, subject guide to "Books in Print", business periodicals index, education index, psychological abstracts, Public Affairs Information Service Bulletin, Social Sciences and Humanities Index, the index to the U.S. Government publications, pamphlet material, and audiovisual material.
